Bahasa rojak
July 22, 2008It’s something very queer way of schmoozer.Merely certain people have it,but it is something very prevalent usage that I ‘tend’ to use it when talking to my family and mostly to my Labuanian/Sabahan friends.What’s it?
Speak bahasa rojak.
I speak 100% Malay-kedayan (Malay languange that has an influence of Brunei dialect) to my parents and a mixture of English,Malay-kedayan and Mandarin to my siblings.Among the funniest and the most gramatically incorrect Malay-kedayan phrases we use:
“Mihir anak ani.Bari gali banar” (Use it when someone you find it so disgusting and really make you tickled)
“Kambangan banar anak ani” (Use it when someone speaks to you,you get a slight of annoyance the way he/she speaks)
“Alum jua pakah” (Use it when someone speaks something that to him/her is very true yet to you,you find it very hard to concede)
“Ada ko karang ketulahan” (Use it when someone younger than you ,he/she does something which is disreputable)
“Bari gerigitan banar“ (Use it when you are ‘Geram’)
etc…etc…etc…
Something that I’ve never realized it too until one day I chatted with my Sabahan friend.It’s so scintillating and I ended up burst out laughing tak hengat dunia!Malay-sabahan languange peppers with English and Mandarin.Salts with Malaysianized jargon like “lah,bah,meh,etc“
My conversation with her:
She:”You belum eat ka?”
Me:”Dunno la what to masak.”
She:”Ala…Just chin-chai chin-chai saja la.Apa susah???”
Me:”So malas owh…”
She:”Ko(Kau) tau,kawan sia(saya) ckp kan,pemalas tu selalu babs (it’s so ‘polite’ to say it instead of saying the correct word ‘Babi’) owh,ko tau…”
Me:”Palui(stupid) ko!hahaha…Ko la tu zhu (Zhu is a Mandarin word which is defined as piggy)”
The conversation above is slightly scorn.So people,don’t use it as a very good advise from me unless if you could deem it as a way of cracking jokes.
So,what would you say when suddenly Japanese phrases turn up like this:
“Ala…zannen desu ne…”
“Sore wa muri bah…”
“Tabemashita meh?”
“Onamae wa Faizuri kan?”
“Mihir banar anak ani.Kimochi warui ze!”
Matilah kena banned orang Jepun lepas ni.Ya ampun…
